Sometimes, half the fun of travelling is the time spent daydreaming before the journey's even begun. And, whether you ever make it to all the cities you've always imagined visiting doesn't necessarily matter. Sometimes, flipping through a travel book can be just the escape you needed on a cloudy afternoon.
The Destinations Collection by French Designer and Photographer Caroline Gomez is a unique little set of photographic travel portraits of some of the world's most creative cities. Our three favourites feature shops, cafés and special places to hang out - in Berlin, Copenhagen and Helsinki. These books pay homage to the beauty of the everyday, the novelty of a simple cup of tea, a pretty storefront, a smiling face or a row of colourful houses. We thought we'd give you a little sneak peak of the inside pages of these clever books. Sometimes, a little flip through can even spark a new way of seeing in your very own neighbourhood. Enjoy!
I love travels
Kauniste, the Finnish word for "to make beautiful", is the name behind this Helsinki-based textile company, spotted in the Destination Collection, that works with young Scandinavian artists and illustrators to create an eclectic array of serving trays, pillow cases, tea towels and greeting cards. Available at Mikko, we've got a little bit of Helsinki right here at home!
