    A few weeks ago, we visited the beautiful light-filled studio of Montreal designer Marie-Pier Berrouard - the creator of silver & gold jewelry line Free Series. Right on the edge of the Mile End in Rosemont, Marie-Pier's studio has been officially up and running since July of this summer. Although she's been designing jewelry for years, this first collection of silver and gold rings, earrings & necklaces under the name Free Series was designed just this past March.

    Last Saturday, we made our way into Montreal to check out Design Haut et Fort, or in English, Loud & Clear, a 3 day design market, this year hosted at Concordia University, celebrating Quebec's talented designers & crafts people. In it's fourth year, the event, imagined and organized by Montreal designer Anne Thomas, is hosted twice annually and features beautiful handmade products like ceramics, furniture, home ware, fashion accessories, illustrated stationery & prints, and more.

    Meet Marie-Anne Miljours, 24-year-old Montreal native, graduate of UQAM's École Supérieure de Mode & the designer behind Matu- a Montreal-based line of handmade and sustainable vegetable-tanned leather goods. This time last year, we discovered Marie-Anne & her lovely, clean-cut designs at Montreal's own Puces Pop, a tri-annual fair that brings the city's designers and artists together under one pop-up marketplace- at l'Église Saint-Denis.
