This legendary model of Marinière was designed in the 1930s and to this day it is still made with the same care and attention in the Quimper workshops of the Brest family.
The jumper was originally created for student officers and as such it attentively respects the regulations of the French Navy. So much so that it was made the official uniform of the helicopter carrier Jeanne d’Arc during its farewell world tour before being retired from active service in 2010.
The Marinière has been manufactured on the Breton Coast by Fileuse d’Arvor since 1927. Over the years, this small family company, founded by Pierre and Marie Brest, has always remained true to its core values of authenticity, excellence and creativity. The know-how of the craftsmen and women has been preserved over the generations, as has their commitment to using high-quality raw materials. This focus on skill and passion ensured that Fileuse d’Arvor remains a reference in luxury knitwear.
